Elon Musk has taken to Twitter to clarify statements he made in an interview with Handelsblatt last month where he basically said that Apple is the “Telsa Graveyard”. Today he explained that he doesn’t hate the iPhone maker and that it’s “a great company with a lot of talented people.”
Right.
To be fair, in the Handelsblatt interview, Musk was talking about Apple’s electric vehicle which is reportedly scheduled for a 2019 release. Shots were fired at Apple by the Tesla chief executive when he remarked that Apple was the place former Tesla engineers go:
“They have hired people we’ve fired. We always jokingly call Apple the “Telsa Graveyard.” If you don’t make it at Tesla, you go work at Apple. I’m not kidding.”
Musk also sought to clarify his remarks about the Apple Watch after saying he’s not taking it seriously. In another tweet, he said that the design was beautifully done but that the functionality “isn’t compelling yet. By version 3, it will be.”
Regarding the watch, Jony & his team created a beautiful design, but the functionality isn't compelling yet. By version 3, it will be.
