Katy Perry has written an emotional note to pay tribute to her late friend, celebrity makeup artist Jake Bailey.
The beloved makeup maven was found dead at age 37 on Friday morning (October 23) and he was best known for his work with Katy.
“Jake– My sweet, sensitive soul,” she started off the note. “What a wonderful journey and friendship we had together. What beautiful art we created together. We conquered the worlds biggest stages, together. I know you felt life so intensely and it created this incredible artistic passion in you that came out in everything you touched, from the amazing images you took to the ways you painted your muses, highlighting the beauty in everyone.”
“You had the most otherworldly eye to detail… we would laugh about how you could take a nap in that eyelid crease you created (cause it was so deep) or Jake‘s 45 minute eyes… Which was such a precise lash that even Bambi couldn’t rival. 'Harry Potter & The Cursed Child' Will Be a Two Part Sequel!
The official synopsis for the upcoming stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has been released and it was revealed that the story will take place 19 years after the final book.
Here is the plot: “It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be told in two parts and both plays can be seen in one day or on consecutive nights. 30 actors will star in the production and casting will be announced at a later date.
The play will premiere in London in summer 2016 and tickets go on sale next week.

Nederlandse Samsung Galaxy Note 3 krijgt firmware update, Stagefright fix
Een maandje geleden kijken we vooruit naar wat de update toekomst voor de Galaxy Note 3 in petto heeft – en vandaag is deze daar in de vorm van een nog nieuwere firmware, die het Stagefright lek volledig dicht op het toestel.
De firmware die vanaf nu voor de Nederlandse unbranded Galaxy Note 3 wordt uitgerold heeft versienummer XXUGBOI6, en patch alle tot nu toe bekende Stagefright kwetsbaarheden. Het Android besturingssysteem blijft bij versie 5.0, maar wel worden er heel wat hobbels – overgebleven na de eerste, grote update naar Android 5.0 Lollipop – gladgestreken.
Verder krijgt het toestel de nieuwe Smart Manager app, waarmee je o.a. eenvoudig geheugen-, stroom-, en opslaggebruik kunt managen.
Al met al is dit een prettige update voor de Note 3, die sinds de oorspronkelijke Lollipop update in Nederland nog geen bugfix of andere updates kreeg.

Justin Theroux Had a Hard Time Reading Growing Up
Justin Theroux flaunts his buff muscles in a tank top while leaving the gym on Wednesday afternoon (October 21) in West Hollywood, Calif.
The 44-year-old actor recently opened up to NPR about how it was difficult for him to read growing up.
“I was not a great reader. I don’t know how to put it any other way. I tested as dyslexic and I was an unfocused child, so I didn’t read a lot early on in my life, and don’t read that much now, if I’m being honest,” Justin said. “Even to this day, I read things in real time like as if it’s being spoken. I can’t skim stuff in ways certain people can.”
Justin said in the interview that he pretended to have a “bellyache” whenever he was called on to read out loud in class.
“It was humiliating. It was horrible. The first time I was ever called on to read I could not. I was called on the first or second day of this public school to read, and I remember looking down at the piece of paper that I was supposed to read and the first word was ‘the,’ which I could read because it’s the first three letters of my last name, but I couldn’t read a single other word. It was like just looking at Greek,” Justin added. “I ended up catching up on a lot of my education in high school. I had a lot of catching up to do.”

De Android 5.0 Lollipop update en Samsung’s Galaxy: stand van zaken (23 oktober)
Het moge duidelijk zijn: voor menig Galaxy toestel is de update naar Android 5.0 Lollipop inmiddels onderweg – sterker nog: voor de meeste recente toestellen is hij inmiddels beschikbaar. Hieronder vind je een actueel overzicht van de stand van zaken omtrend de update.
Toestellen die de update naar Lollipop zeker krijgen, inclusief updatestatus (23 oktober):
- Galaxy S5: beschikbaar in Nederland, inclusief eerste en tweede bugfix updates
- Galaxy S5 Plus SM-G901F: uitrol gestart, nog niet in Nederland
- Galaxy S5 Mini: uitrol gestart, nog niet in Nederland
- Galaxy S5 Active: beschikbaar in Nederland
- Galaxy S4: beschikbaar in Nederland
- Galaxy S4 Active: uitrol gestart, nog niet in Nederland

En daar is Android 5.0.2 Lollipop op de Nederlandse Samsung Galaxy Alpha (unbranded)
Heel wat Galaxys kregen hun dosis Lollipop al, maar de Samsung Galaxy Alpha stond nog in de rij. Tot nu, althans, want Android 5.0.2 wordt op dit moment uitgerold naar de unbranded versie van het toestel. Voor Vodafone’s branded toestelvariant was hij er al sinds de zomer.
Gisteravond al kregen de eerste gebruik(st)ers met een unbranded – dus niet direct bij een provider gekocht toestel – Galaxy Alpha de update naar Android Lollipop. Zorg, voordat je aan de update begint, dat je in ieder geval genoeg vrije ruimte op jouw toestel beschikbaar hebt – 3 GB is voldoende.
Uiteraard brengt Lollipop een aantal flinke vernieuwingen naar de Galaxy Alpha, waaronder het nieuwe notificatiesysteem, en het zogeheten Material Design.
Omdat de firmware die op dit moment wordt aangeboden vrij recent is, zijn een aantal zwakke plekken van het Stagefright lek al gedicht – maar nog niet allemaal. Hopelijk volgt een update om dit volledig op te lossen op korte termijn.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 tip: Photo Note
Met de update naar Android Lollipop kwam er – stilletjes – een nieuwe feature naar de Galaxy Note 3: Photo Note. Inderdaad, een snufje oorspronkelijk bekend van de Galaxy Note 4 – en niet te verwarren met de eenvoudige Fotonotitie feature die eerder op Note 3 te vinden was.
Één van de features die Samsung destijds introduceerde op de Galaxy Note 4, was Photo Note – Fotonotitie in het Nederlands. En wat blijkt? Met de update naar Android 5.0 Lollipop kwam dit snufje ook naar de Galaxy Note 3 – zonder toelichting, uitleg, of verdere poeha. Ons was het tot nu toe niet opgevallen in ieder geval.
Met Fotonotitie kun je eenvoudig tekst of afbeeldingen isoleren. Stel, je wilt alleen de aantekeningen op een whiteboard opslaan. Je hoeft er dan alleen foto van te maken met Fotonotitie. Vervolgens kunnen alle irrelevante delen worden weggehaald – inclusief de achtergrond van de tekst of tekening – zodat je alleen dát overhoudt wat je echt nodig hebt. Hierbij wordt ook de positie gecorrigeerd, ook als je iets schuin of scheef vastlegt.
Net als op de Note 4, vind je Fotonotitie op de Galaxy Note 3 met Android Lollipop via de S Note app als een nieuwe notitie maakt (1), of via de S Note widget als je deze op je startscherm hebt staan (2).
Als je ‘m start, kom je in een simpele camera interface terecht. Daar zal Fotonotitie zelf mogelijke stukken tekst of objecten detecteren – echter, dit werkt op onze redactionele Note 3 lang niet zo soepel en betrouwbaar als op de Note 4. Het contrast met de omgeving moet heel duidelijk zijn.
Desalniettemin werkt het vaak ook wel: je ziet dan hoe een bepaald stuk van het beeld automatisch geselecteerd wordt. Deze afbeelding en selectie leg je vervolgens vast met de sluitertoets (3). Iets betrouwbaarder, maar minder snel, is het gebruik van eerdere gemaakte foto’s – dit doe je via het Galerij icoontje (4).
Als de afbeelding goed is vastgelegd, en correct uitgesneden, kun jeeen selectie maken: welke kaders moeten wel, en welke niet geïmporteerd worden naar S Note (5). Om verder te gaan tik je rechtsboven op het vinkje (6), et voilà: de afzonderlijke delen zijn nu ontdaan van achtergrond kleuren, en als losse elementen te bewerken in S Note.
Zoals we hierboven al aanstipten: op de Galaxy Note 3 werkt deze functie een stukje minder soepel dan op de Note 4 – mogelijk is dit de reden dat er verder maar weinig ruchtbaarheid is gegeven, toen hij met de Lollipop update meekwam. Desalniettemin is het een leuke Note 4 feature die nu dus ook te gebruiken is op de Note 3.

Parker Young Begins Filming 'Arrow' Scenes – First Set Photos!
Parker Young wears a Queen Industries cap while shooting scenes for Arrow on Wednesday (October 21) in Vancouver, Canada.
The 27-year-old Enlisted alum and newest castmember was joined on set by co-stars Willa Holland, Stephen Amell, and David Ramsay.
